In October 2015 the NBGC scholarship was renamed the Ann Gay Scholarship Fund to honor Ann, a long-time resident of Nassau Bay who was also a long-time member of Nassau Bay Garden Club. She served the Club several times as president and filled chairmanships locally, chaired committees in the Houston Federation of Garden Clubs, and served the Coastal Prairie Council (District IV) in chairmanships as well as District Director of the largest district in the state.
