Suzanne Gilbert, current president of Houston Rose Society:
Suzanne Gilbert, current president, has also served the Houston Rose Society as publicity chairperson. As a member since 1995, she has grown roses for over 30 years in Houston. In 2012 she became a Consulting Rosarian and has given many presentations on roses to gardening groups in the Houston area. Her first rose garden as a young girl was in Baltimore, Maryland. Peace, Tropicana, and Chrysler Imperial grew in that first garden. Suzanne enjoys educating people on how to grow beautiful roses and believes that roses are for everyone.
Lee Moore, Just Peachy Farms:
Lee Moore will make a presentation on orchids. They are one of the two largest families of flowering plants with about 28,000 species.
Light breakfast munchies and coffee/juice will be available.
Patty Steinke and Virginia Pierson, Native Plant Society:
Both recently retired, Patty Steinke and Virginia Pierson will present a program on native plants for pollinator gardens.
