We will learn more about the new green jewel in our area, Exploration Green. We will be presented a program outlining how this wonderful area came about and the work that went into creating this recreation and conservation park.
Roscoe Lee, a long-time resident, will present a program on our own natural beauty spots in Nassau Bay. He will talk about all the efforts that go into “Keep Nassau Bay Beautiful.” That includes work of the Parks Committee, the city Parks Department, and volunteers. We are lucky to live in a beautiful town and we will find out more about what it takes to maintain that green, lush look.
Julie Cartmill, a Master Gardener, will tell us what we need to know about our trees. If you send questions to Betty Armstrong, firstname.lastname@example.org, she will forward them to Julie before the program and she will try to address them. We all wonder about moss, ball and Spanish, and we wonder what we can do to stop or at least slow down, “crepe murder!” If you lost a tree and would like to replace it, she will have some ideas. Also, she will give tips on the when, why, and how of pruning.
We have seen many beautiful plumerias in our town. If you would like to grow these tropical beauties on your patio or garden, Loretta Osteen will tell you how. She will show us how to propagate them so our patios will look like a corner of Hawaii. Also, we don’t want to lose them during the winter, so we’ll find out how to keep them from year to year.
